Back to the Basics...Sales & Marketing First
The past week has been spent speaking with marketing directors, sales managers and consultants about their Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, ActiveRain and other online social networking accounts. One sales manager shared and email from marketing firm outlining a several month long marketing campaign done by creating a fake person on Facebook intended on tricking buyers into coming to see homes for sale. The email shared that several people had agreed to be be Facebook friends with the fake person and even attended a party at a new urban condo unit. There was no information on how people reacted when they found out they had been tricked into visiting the community by a salesperson though the email did share say the marketing had lots of buzz until it was shut down by Facebook for violating terms of use and creating fake accounts. Are legitimate marketing professionals now Twittering for customers or spending months on fake online profiles creating fake people to trick buyers into viewing their products or location?
Would someone who was tricked into visiting a home by a fake person on a fake online account be the best prospective buyer? What ever happened to generating leads and sales through marketing? What happened to connecting with buyers through legitimate methods such as a well developed and search engine optimized website or effective targeted email marketing followed by personal calls to prospects to help generate interest. There are home buyers out there and the majority of buyers are using the Internet to search for homes, legitimate buyers are looking for a home for the best price not trying to be entertained or invited to a party. Multiple opportunities to reach buyers and share a message is good though quite a few marketing firms seem to be focusing efforts on random items online tools or Tweets while forgetting the basics of Sales and Marketing!
Build a better website, buy online advertising to put yourself in front of prospective buyers where they are looking then focus efforts on Twittering and creating online areas to chat with someone in hopes they may buy something. Back to the basics, the basics changed moving away from newspaper and print ads to the Internet Super Highway where you can reach more buyers and sell more...if the basics are done properly.

Customer Follow Up Is King!
Do you follow up with with your customers and affiliates on a regular basis?
Many companies do a poor job of communicating with customers and overlook one of their biggest sources of revenue. In fact, many companies believe that once a sale is made the follow up process should end. Unfortunately they are losing a significant opportunity to build additional customer satisfaction, establish better rapport, credibility, lower returns, and increase their knowledge of the user experience.
Follow up is for more than just prospects. In fact, following up with customers is just as important. Post purchase follow up is overlooked by many businesses but can be implemented easily. Consider applying a basic process that can benefit overall consumer satisfaction significantly. Your process may include:
- Training to teach a customer how to use a product.
- Answering commonly asked questions before they are asked.
- Teaching users about lesser known features.
- Providing support contact information.
Don’t stop with customers. Also reach out to your affiliates. This can improve relationships and prioritize your products over others being promoted. The reality is that in most affiliate or reseller programs over 90% of affiliates never do anything. By properly following up with new and existing affiliates you can help increase the percentage of those actively promoting your products and often see immediate results.
Here are some ideas to consider for engaging affiliates and improving outcomes:
- Provide promotional material.
- Teach effective promotional techniques.
- Share best practices from top affiliates.
- Product education.
- Reminders to get the affiliate to take action.
- Introduce contests and incentives.
Whether you are focusing on improving the communication with your customers or affiliates (or both), consider what you do as being directly tied to increased revenue. Too often companies focus all of their energy on prospecting and not enough on nurturing existing relationships.
Look at your customer communication program today and ask, “how can I better communicate to my customers to improve loyalty, develop relationships, and generate more sales?”

Pay Per Lead Affiliate Programs Are The Holy Grail For Beginners
Guest Post by Franck Silvestre
If you are trying to make money online for more than one month, I bet you already heard about affiliate marketing.
It's the fastest easiest way to get started online and make some real money.
What most beginners don't know is that you don't need to sell anything to make money with affiliate programs. You can make money when a website visitor perform an action like signing up for more information or downloading a toolbar or screensaver.
Those pay per lead programs are called Cost Per Action (CPA).
If you are new to CPA programs, let me show you how it works.
1. Getting started
There are two big schools of thought.
The first is that you should pick your market first, and then, pick a product that is proven to sell in this market.
The second school of thought says that you choose the product that people already buy first, and then, you promote it to hungry buyers in the market.
Personally, I do both, but if you are just getting started and didn't make your first sale yet, I suggest that you choose option two, because beginners generally struggle to find a niche.
2. Grabbing your CPA offer
This is a little bit more tricky than traditional pay per sale affiliate products (you are paid when someone actually buy the product you are promoting).
Let's say you want to start with Market Leverage.
With the CPA affiliate network like Market Leverage for example, you will need to go through an application process.
Most of the time, you will be asked how you will promote the offer, and they will also ask you for a website's url.
Just say that you are going to promote with seo. If you have the budget, you can also say PPC.
Once you sign up, an affiliate manager will contact you to see if you are a real person, and ask you a couple of questions to see if you qualify.
Don't worry. Here is a little known trick that will help you to be accepted in any affiliate network.
Please be honest. Don't tell your affiliate manager that you earn $2000.00 per month when you never made a dime online. Just tell the truth. Here is the twist what should get you in easily.
Just tell to your affiliate manager that you are brand new and that you never made a dime online, but that you are going to do whatever you can to make a lot of commissions every month for his network only.
You get it?
Here is why it works:
His role is to help you earn more. He is not doing this because he loves you, but the reason is that when you make money, the affiliate manager makes money. If you earn more, he earns more as well.
When you tell him that you are going to make money EXCLUSIVELY for this network, he will think twice, and you'll have more chances to be approved if you are just getting started.
If you are not accepted (it happens sometimes), don't worry, you have two things to do:
1. Call again
Just call the affiliate manager after one week, and he will see that you are serious.
2. Go the the next CPA affiliate networks, there are dozens of them and you should get accepted when you apply what I teach.

What You need to make money online? Nothing!
Guest Post by Simone Morris
Making money online is more and more popular in past months and I can freely say in past years, just look at Google search trends and you will understand what I am talking about.
Today I will to explain how sometime can be easy to make quick cash. Let say that there is a thousands ways to make money today using Internet. We will take CraigsList as great example. What we need to make $100 or $1000 weekly on CraigsList? Nothing! Don't believe? Ok, it is not nothing, but You need just some time and patience, and no money investment. We will talk about drop shipping today. So what is drop shipping? That is popular way for retailers to sell any merchandise without having it in stock. Actually, without having any stock at all. Or to be more precise, You can have physical online shop from shoes to iPods without leaving Your home or investing in stock. I hear You asking "how that is possible?", easy, that is something called drop shipping.
In drop shipping You make an online shop (buy domain for $10 and that is Your only money "investment"), use open source cart software like oSCommerce (absolutely free), decide which merchandise You will selling, for example, let say iPods, use Google to find manufacture which support drop shipping, and finally use CragsList and other free classifieds to promote Your business.
I know that You still believe that this what I am talking is possible. Ok, I will go again, step by step, and I hope that then everything will be clear. To become drop shipper seller You don't need money to invest. You don't need to have stock. You don't need to have anything. Nothing. Nada :) Now you for example decide to sell t-shirts. When You decided that Your future job will be an t-shirt online shop, you are buying domain something like my-t-shirt-shop.com or something. Then You are using Google to find company that will cooperate with you, or in other words, that will make t-shirts and send to Your clients. Just use Google. Then You need to find payment processor to accept credit card payments from your clients, and again use Google, I used plimus, authorize and similar services, it still cost you nothing, except of domain name (about $10 depending on your ISP.) After You found and signed online contract with payment processor, you need to build site, so You will use osCommerce or some other cart software, download images from manufacturer that You choose and create 10-50 products.
After this you are ready to go. Start posing ads on CraigsList and similar service attracting customers with low prices, high quality and similar of Your t-shirt. When people (buyers) start coming to Your site, and start buying Your t-shirts, what happens is next: when You receive money for order of 1 or 100 t-shirts, you are paying half of that su (approximately) to Your manufacturer and sending him Your buyer details (name and address), manufacturer packing Your order and sending to Your buyer. Buyer receives t-shirt and he is very satisfied. You made 30%-50% net profit and You are happy too. Manufacturer sold his products and made profit so he is happy to. All of You are happy :)
I hope that You understand that You can really make some money doing nothing, just with some initial work, good idea and a bit of creativity and patience.

Protecting Yourself From Internet Theft While Making Profit Online
With the recent increase of job loss, plant closings, and layoffs more and more people are looking
for ways that they can earn an income online. However when you are considering a job online you need to also take the time to consider the many different online scams that are out there as well. In order to make yourself more aware you will need to know some of the more common signs.

Most generally money making scams that occur online are usually in the form of incredible and outrageous offers on software and other methods of online business. If you happen to encounter a scheme that seems way to good to be true then chances are you are exactly right. Also you need to be leery of those jobs that state that you do not need any prior experience in order for you to make an astounding amount of money because are probably all scams.
Another thing you need to be on the lookout for is those entire limited product or time offers. These are the offers that like to rope you in with no proof of authenticity and most of the time you will find that you will receive nothing in return except for a loss of cash. There are however, still some legitimate limited slot companies you just need to be sure that you are doing research on the company before you even decide to purchase the product. The money making scams are constantly on the lookout to take advantage of new people just like you.
You should also be aware of those sites that have a wide variety of testimonials from people that have actually claimed to be customers of the client but, these people seem to lack the sufficient information to be able to give you reliable information about the company itself. You need to be sure that you are always doing your own research and be sure that you have a way to check the company’s overall existence and that you have a way that you contact these companies for any questions you may have or extra information that you may be looking for.
Also you need to be aware of those companies that tell you to pay online but they do not offer a secure site and do not have the BBC symbol anywhere within their site. These are most generally your fly by night companies that are simply after your money and they will close up shop as soon as you send it.
So as you can see there are a wide variety of ways that you can encounter internet scams during your search for legitimate online money making system.

How to Do Affiliate Marketing with Help of Your Blog
Guest Post by Gagandeep Singh
Affiliate Marketing is one of the most effective ways to monetize your Blog traffic and earn a good amount online. But like everything it is not a easy job and requires hard work and patience before it starts paying back. Below are the few basic tips which would help you to start in Affiliate marketing or if you are already in to Affiliate Marketing you can use this tips to take your marketing campaign up to next level.
Analyze Your Readership: - Before Promoting an affiliate campaign you should analyze the type of traffic you are getting. Either most of the people visit your blog just for information? At what stage of Buying Cycles they are? What kind of posts people prefer to read more on your blog? What Content your Blog has? Whether your Blog contains only Information articles or You Blog about latest products which can influent people to buy them?
Selecting Products to Promote: - The success and failure of your affiliate marketing campaign would depend on your selection of Affiliate Program. Before selecting a program you need to understand what your readers are looking for, what is the Quality of products you are going to promote, what would be the Impact on your Blog Readership if you promote a product, what is the location of your readers in case you are going to promote a tangible product? Choose Product and Companies which have good reputation.
Be Genuine: - Be Honest and Genuine about the product you are promoting. Tell both pros and Cons of the product so that your reader can take a correct decision according to his/her Requirements. Your Reader comes on your blog because they have level of trust for you. So Respect that Trust and give genuine recommendations about the Product.
Positioning of Ads: - Place your ads and banners at the Left Hand side or at the Top of your Blog So That it could be easily visible to your readers. You can also try contextual deep link strategy on your Blog. Put the links to sales pages between the relevant articles. When a user see your ad in relevant article he would be more likely to click your ad than if he saw your ad at any other place.
Promote Multiple Products: - Don’t put all your efforts in single Product. Select Multiple Products for your Readers and promote them. At the same time don’t fill your blog with affiliate ads that you can’t give proper attention even to single product.
Traffic: - When it comes to earn online Traffic is also an important factor. Don’t focus only on promoting campaigns but also focus on improving your blog readership. You can also use Social Media websites like Youtube, twitter, Facebook etc to improve your traffic level. More the traffic you get more your affiliate links would be seen.
Patience: - It takes lot of time and Hard Work to see Effective Results in Affiliate Marketing. You won’t be seeing any Results (or very little) for first few months. So you need to be patient and continue the good Work.
Track Results: - Each Affiliate program gives you a facility to Track results. Compare results of each Program you are promoting. These Results would help you to understand which program converts better than others. Leave the low performing products and scale up your sales with Remaining.

Bad News! Content is no longer King
Guest Post by Stephen Ng
Are you like me? Always believe that to do well online; you need to have great content? Well not anymore! Every other day, I try to write the best article for my readers like yourself and most of the time it will take me more than a day to write one good article.
In the process to write a good article, very often I have to research on the topic on what I am going to write. There are so many blogs out there and when I am unlucky, I won’t be able to gather any valid points to include in my article. Does this sound all too familiar to you as well?
Don’t get me wrong! I am not asking you to write junks to entertain your readers. If your reader wants to be entertained in this manner, they would have gone to YouTube and search for some comedy videos. Your visitor on your blog is hoping to bring home a lesson that they can be proud to share with their friends and that is what I hope to achieve in this post.
There are simply too many information that can be found on the Internet. If you have read a great article earlier on another blog does not mean that you won’t be able to read another article that is even better? You are not able to read the best article between these 2 blogs because the first blog is better with marketing and that is why you found him!
Having good content is important. Equally important is your marketing. It is similar to having great ideas without taking any action to bring it to fruition. I am not here to teach you how to write your article. Instead I am here to suggest that marketing is more important that good content. What is the use of writing a good article and when it is done, you forgot to publish it? Will your visitors get to read it? Therefore what I am trying to share with you is that Marketing is King and Content is Queen!

Blogging – An Extreme Marketing Tool for the New Century
Blogging today has become quite the force. People blog about almost everything, from politics and the news, to sports and business, even their own personal lives! Should you?
In marketing, there’s no doubt that blogging has become a highly effective tool. Is it right for everyone though? Maybe not, but it is a valuable way to add fresh content to most web sites.
All of the most highly used search engines, including Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask and MSN all expect webmasters to keep their sites updated often. Blogs provide a way to add fresh content capably and effectively.
This doesn’t mean that you need to flood readers and visitors with eBook novels to be a success though. In most cases the shorter and more to the point they are the better. A quick, well written piece of work is actually better than a long, boring narrative that no one wants to read. Fifty words with a few doses here and there of useful keywords will become magnets to search engines, and helpful information for your target audience will appeal to the human visitors you wish to turn into your customer base. Applying this three to seven times a week for a year will turn your website into the well oiled machine that search engines just love.
Not that it will take a full year though. You can achieve the same success in three to six months if you fill your blogs with entertainment, amusement, originality and unique content that will turn your readers into repeat customers.
If you are considering the use of blogging as a marketing tool in your future, don’t sell yourself short with only keeping an online diary for your writing either. A few keywords tossed around aren’t all it takes to make your blog a success. You must communicate with your audience which content is most informative, which is most entrancing, and what is benefitting to them. There are also two other forms of blogging growing more and more popular as well. Whichever forms you use will depend on you and your company’s objectives and ambitions.
These two types of blogging – audio and video – can also be just as effective if not more in some cases. This doesn’t mean they are for everyone though. Do you make a living with your voice, such as singing or public speaking? These kinds of talents can be a unique way of reaching customers who can assess and appraise your work also. Of course, perhaps everyday would be a bit much, but it’s good to keep your options open.
The same applies to video blogging. Maybe you are an actor or technician with talents related to production or direction of video? There is a lot to consider with this form of blogging nowadays, with internet video upload capabilities, affordable digital cameras, and software bringing it all together and becoming easier day by day. Blogging and the 21st century are upon us, and these powerful marketing strategies are beneficial to almost any and every business. These are all definitely worth checking out.
Make a Blog Income Starting Today
Guest Post by Andrew Rondeau
Every day, thousands of people make a blog and take their first steps into blogging. While some end generating a large readership and eventually some blogging income, the vast majority of bloggers fail to amass even a single reader, and most don't make a cent from their blogging experiences. It's a statistic that's slightly alarming and potentially annoying to a lot of wannabe bloggers, however once you examine the true causes of failed blogs, and the true motivators for blogging success, you begin to see how blogging can actually be incredibly lucrative.
Most bloggers fail because of a lack of patience. They see the top bloggers bringing in thousands of dollars a day and reaching tens of thousands of people, and they think that they could be there overnight. As usual, the truth is different from the fantasy. While thousands of bloggers make it to Technorati's top listings, the vast majority end up disillusioned and disappointed after a few days, sometimes a few weeks, and end up leaving their blogs untouched for years.
In that way, blogging is like business. While millions of businesses fail every year, thousands grow into the giant companies that push the world economy forward. Generating blog income should be treated just like a business in order to have maximum success. Treat your blog as a revenue source, make strategic decisions to boost your earning and increase your influence, and experiment with different revenue streams. I've listed some of the best blogging revenue streams below, to help you boost your blog's earnings and increase your own blogging confidence.
PPC Advertising
By using PPC ads on your blog, you can generate a small (but potentially lucrative) income every time a user clicks through to another website. While it's smart to plan ahead for advertising strategies (especially if your blog advertises your services) general purpose blogs can easily generate thousands of dollars a month with good advertising placement.
PPM Advertising
If you'd prefer the security of a flat fee over the growth potential of PPC, cost-per-thousand advertising can bring in consistent and valuable income. While most small bloggers can arrange a PPM advertising program for their blog through a network, big blogs might like to look at offering independent advertising spaces and special one-off client rates.
Of course, part of establishing yourself as a powerful advertising resource is growing in size. Small blogs aren't great advertising earners, especially if they deal with relatively general subjects. This raises the question: What can small blogs do to earn blog income?
Start by offering your services, whether they're creative, technical, or business based. There are people out there that are willing to work with you, especially if they already read your blog. Make a blog to use as a promotional tool and you'll see opportunities not just for direct advertising income, but for indirect partnerships and contracting potential. The opportunities for blog income are endless, and with some drive and perception, it's easy to turn a small blog into a massive revenue bringer.

Choosing the Right Blogging Platform
So you’ve decided that blogging is for you to make money online. Now, one of the things you need to choose is which blogging platform to use. Selecting the right one will make your blogging days easy. Choose the wrong one, and you could end up never enjoying blogging again.
A blogging platform is a program designed to help you in managing your blog. From the first steps of creation, all the way to adding, editing and deleting posts, as well as approving or deleting comments. In addition to these common tasks, your platform may be able to enhance your blog with other elements as well. Therefore, it is important to spend time experimenting with different types available to see which platform is right for you.
Of course you want a user friendly blogging platform that allows you to customize your blog to make it unique. Don’t expect it to just fall right into your lap though, part of this process is to see which one suits you and your needs most ideally. Spend some time feeling them out and testing them before settling with your favorite choice.
When searching for the right one, it will help to know what you are looking for. Do you want one that is simple to use with less features perhaps, or perhaps a highly customizable one that adds features and enhancements is more for you.
One such platform, Moveable Type, is a highly customizable platform, but may be a poor choice if you do not have HTML or Javascript experience. If you are comfortable with code and computer languages or you are an experienced web master, this may be the choice for you.
Conversely, if you are not so technically savvy, an automated platform such as WordPress and Blogger may be your best route to success. If you don’t mind using templates, or are a new blogger, WordPress and Blogger offer an extremely user-friendly alternative for those without skills in coding.
You can’t get an accurate depiction of the best blogging platform out there though. You will have different needs and ideas for your blog than the next blogger. While you may find MoveableType the most appropriate choice, your best friend may find another program more rewarding and therefore, the best.
Also, don’t forget that blogging is as individual as personalities are, and there is no software that will satisfy each individual’s needs. There are many available, and this is because the developers are as individual as the bloggers, and create programs suited for many styles and aptitudes, including your own.
Creating Money Making Affiliate Website Using Easy Website Builder
Guest Post by Paul Vrieling
If you want to make money online, then you have a few different ways to do it. One of the most popular ways is by using affiliate marketing. You find a good product to promote, get your links for tracking your sales and make a website. You drive traffic to the website and for every sale you make, you get paid. Sounds pretty easy, right?
Well, actually it's pretty hard! There is a lot of competition out there in the affiliate marketing world. You need an advantage to get your sites ranking high. Another major roadblock for most people is the fact that you have to make a website to make money this way. You can't just take your link and market that! That is not a good long term strategy and Adwords will take your ad of sooner or later if you use this method.
So, most people turn to Wordpress to make affiliate marketing websites. Wordpress has lots of cool features and plug ins, so if you are a technical genius - go for it! One of the hardest parts is creating a data base. Most newbies don't understand how to do this.
Well, thankfully one internet marketer finally came out with a better way. It's an affiliate marketing website builder that is super easy to use and has many of the same features marketers love with wordpress! You can create affiliate review sites in just minutes...Here's how.
1. Open up your favorite FTP program (Filezilla is mine, it's free)
2. Connect with your host on your domain name (this is very easy and they have directions)

Get the Top Selling Affiliate Marketing Course for Free
Last week I wrote about the $1 offer of Chris Carpenter's Google Cash Course, now you can get the course at no charge. Chris has just yesterday decided to give out his Google Cash Course totally free to fight the scam programs that used the similar name, 'Google Cash'.
The Google Cash Course was originally released by Chris Carpenter. Chris began by putting up his course for sale on Clickbank in year 2003. In just after the first week listing on Clickbank
e-book marketplace, the Google Cash course turned out to be the best seller in the 'Money and Employment' category of Clickbank. The course then became the best seller for the next two years and people who are in affiliate marketing know the name of Chris Carpenter.

But in years 2008 and 2009, there are more and more scam programs showing up on the Internet using the similar name like Google Cash Kit, Google Cash Success Kit, Google Pro kit, and many more.
All these scam programs work the same way. They claim to offer a start-up kit that will guide you to start making good money with Google. Visitors who sign up for these kits will need to enter their credit card details and get charged a $2.95 (or a little more) shipping fee. The program will then send the kit to the visitors who signed up.
But many people have complained that they didn't receive the kit and get charged an expensive monthly fee of $60 to $80 that they have no idea what is it for after 7 days of sign up. Then you'll find it hard to cancel and getting refund of the expensive charge seems not possible.
These programs have been widely promoted to millions of people. So, be careful when you are searching for information about how to make money online. You could be presented with one of these programs and become another victim. If you like to know about these scam programs, you can read a previous post that I wrote about the Google Pro Kit Scam.
Anyway, what Chris offers is totally different from these scams. Chris's Google Cash Course is a step-by-step course teaching you how to start making money online using Google AdWords and affiliate programs. The course contains a lot of useful information and you get the chance to learn the successful methods that Chris has used to make a living online.
Google Cash Course used to sell at Clickbank for a price of $67 with 45 days money back guarantee. So, if you don't like it for any reason after purchase, you can request for a full refund. Certainly no way it is a scam.
OK now, since Chris wants to clear his name and fight the scam, he is giving out his Google Cash course for free. If you want to start making money from affiliate marketing but don’t know where to begin, this is the course for you.

Guest Post by Anil Gupta
Did you know that you can also earn money online from newsletters which you send to your

Most pro-bloggers on the internet gain additional revenue from newsletters. However, many bloggers have a question on how to attract readers to sign up for newsletters.
What are the Advantages of having a newsletter?
Having a newsletter is a great way to have readers keep returning to your blog. This will also create a sense of community which all bloggers should try to achieve. The main benefit of a newsletter is that it allows the webmaster to create an additional revenue stream apart from his main blog. Newsletters are becoming very important to propel the overall growth of a blog after a certain stage.
How to get readers to sign up for Newsletters?
The best way to lure your readers to subscribe to your newsletters is by offering them extra content which they will not find usually in your blog. That content should be useful and unique. So when your readers see that there is more content which is only accessible when you subscribe then they sign up for it. This is possible provided you provide good content. If the content in your blog are useful then chances are readers will know that your newsletter will be even more useful. Basically, newsletter
How to make money from Newsletter?
There are various ways to make money from a newsletter. The conventional ways to make money such as Adsense ads etc. are not possible to implement in newsletters. But there are more effective ways to monetize newsletters:
Direct Advertisement Space: If you have a nice number of readerships then you can opt for showing direct ads and sponsored links on your newsletter. This will be a far better paying than a Pay-Per-Click campaign.
Sell your Merchandise: If you have anything to sell relevant to the niche of your blog then you can use your newsletter to market your products.
Affiliate Marketing: This another lucrative way to make money from newsletters as you will be able to promote content to a more trusting audience therefore your chances of sale increase. However, be careful not to overdo it as this may harm your readership count and may cause them to unsubscribe.
Eventually, once you create a brand for your blog you can switch over to the paid version of newsletters but that is at a higher level.
It is worth considering this different stream of making money online. Have you tried providing newsletters on your blog, if so how successful were you to generate revenue from it? You can drop down the answers below.

Affiliate programs are a type of partnership between a seller and an advertiser.
The advertiser directs visitors to a seller's website and for this the advertiser receives a percentage of the revenue generated from the visitors coming from the advertiser. The advertiser is said to be an affiliate of the seller.
The percentage paid by the seller to the affiliate is set by the seller and varies depending on the type of products, the profit margin on the products sold and how keen the seller is to promote his or her products through affiliates. Percentages anywhere between 10% and 75% are common.
The advantage for the seller includes additional sales and that the seller knows exactly what margin he or she will have on products sold to visitors coming from affiliates. If the seller markets his or her products through advertising using sponsored links, banners, text ads or similar, the seller does not know before starting a campaign what number of sales will be generated per dollar spent on advertising. The seller thus does not know if the campaign pays off or not. With sales generated from affiliates the seller knows exactly what percentage of revenue from a sale goes to the affiliate and therefore knows exactly how much is left for the seller. A seller who offers an affiliate program can have hundreds or even thousands of affiliates.
For the affiliate participation in an affiliate program allows the affiliate to make money without having a product to sell. For the affiliate, revenue can be generated simply from attracting visitors. The affiliate does not need to worry about procuring or shipping products or about providing any kind of support to the buyer. The affiliate has a wide range of choices for how to attract visitors. In a common setup, the affiliate has a website from which visitors can be sent to the seller's website. The affiliate may also have a blog which generates so much traffic that it pays of to direct visitors to a seller's website. A blog can be created for free and so is the choice of many affiliates. Finally, an affiliate may direct traffic to a seller's website by advertising using banners, text ads or sponsored links as available through Google's AdWords, Overture or similar services. If the affiliate attracts visitors from such advertising only, the affiliate does not need to create a website or blog and so does not need to create any content for such.
Affiliate programs and paying of commissions to the affiliate can be supported by third parties or be handled directly between the seller and the affiliate. If paying of commission is handled directly between seller and affiliate, the affiliate normally needs to sign up for the affiliate program on the seller's website. In case of third parties handling payment of commission it is common that no agreement needs to be set up between the affiliate and the seller. The third party however will then have separate agreements with the seller and with the affiliate. Commissions are normally paid by cheque but in some cases it is paid by PayPal or wire transfer.
Technically affiliate programs are normally supported so a visitor's IP address is recorded when the visitor follows a link provided by the affiliate to the seller's website. If a purchase is made and payment is collected, the visitor's IP address is determined again, and if it matches that recorded when a link was followed, the commission can be paid instantly. In some cases a "cookie" is stored on a visitor's computer when a link is followed and this is used to identify the source of the visitor.
In short, affiliate programs allow sellers and affiliates to share the revenue generated for sales from sellers' websites and can generate considerable income for both parties.

7 Ways To Optimize Adsense Legally
Unleashing the secrets that make Adsense Pay
Thanks to adsense, blogs, rss feeds and their listings -- not to mention an arsenal of free types of advertising -- it's possible to make a very good income without spending a penny and with minimal effort. The trick is to optimize for it.
PLEASE NOTE: Though adsense may have originated with Google's system, there are many other adsense-type programs available, all of which are as viable -- some even more so -- as theirs. The information included here applies to most of them.
While everyone else is busy optimizing for search engines, by optimizing for adsense, a site can feasibly pull enough traffic that simply clicks on the ads to forget about other forms of sales.
However, bear in mind that most adsense TOS agreements prevent any unfair or "fraudulent" clicking, even so much as a note saying, "click here to support this site," which risks banishment by most adsense companies. This, of course, is to protect those adwords customers who pay to have their ads displayed. It is they who are robbed (not the companies) when an ad is clicked irresponsibly. Furthermore Google, for one, can track clicks effectively enough to detect any artificial or irresponsible clicking will garner any income received this way.
With that in mind, by understanding how adsense-type programs work, one can optimize a page, legally, to create a substantial income. And while guidelines are designed primarily focused on adsense, many of these strategies will increase a sites' general revenue as well.
1. TOP SEARCHES
The first step is to design a site around the top searches. There are various tools (keyword selectors and zeitgeist, for example) that help gather this information. Of course, there is also the "niche marketing" school of thought, i.e., to find a smaller group that has less page-per-click competition. In this case, the ideal is to find a large audience-small page ratio. But after more than a year of marketers scouring the web for them, finding one is rare and searching for one can take a LOT of time. Not hours or days, but weeks or months.
2. HIGHEST PAYING KEYWORDS
Lists of these can be found simply by searching the internet. Of course combining the highest paying adsense keywords with Top Searches may make a very strange mix. Afterall, the top search (at the time of this writing) is Britney Spears while the top-paying words relate to mesothelioma and asbestos cancer. So, unless Britney Spears speaks out on mesothelioma, there's little chance these could be combined legally*. But, by looking down the lists there are more feasible combinations. The main thing to understand is it's only a combination of the two (high-paying keywords & top searches) that will bring enough traffic to garner any measurable LEGAL income from adsense.
3. PLACES, PLEASE
Placing the ads prominently on the site is a no-brainer, though some marketers still tend to hide them toward the bottom of the site. Another TOS factor, too, is a content-to-ad ratio that adsense programs used to insist on, but seem to be slipping. Generally the policy was no more than two banner ads per page though many sites that end up at the top of searches seem to flaunt this rule. But who knows how long they last, too. Traditionally, putting one banner across the top, just below the title, and one "skyscraper" down one side, with content in the middle is the best.
4. MULTI-PAGE IT
One page allows for 2 ads, but more ads can be placed on each additional page on the site. For those lacking ideas for additional pages, the simplest page would be a separate contact page, as well as an "about us" or testimonial page, all of which are viable additions.
Incidently, it's ironic that so many marketers create mile-long splash pages rather than a group of pages and never add one adsense ad to them. As if, by doing this, it will garner more sales, when the truth is, they sacrifice as much as gain because these pages are rarely indexed and annoy visitors as many as they attract, simply because of their set up. Understand this: adsense is a way to profit from EXIT traffic, something that WILL occur at one point or another, no matter how wonderful the page.
5. HIGHLIGHT OR BLEND
Some prefer the adsense to blend into their site, almost hiding it from visitors. But this diminishes its effectiveness. Rather, by highlighting it, visitors will be more aware of it, allowing it to stand out. Of course, we'd all prefer our visitors to stay at OUR site, buy OUR product, etc. But the fact is, many won't. Isn't it better to gain something from their departure?
6. ADSEARCH
This feature is only available from some of the larger adsense programs. If it is available, placing it at the bottom of a page offers the visitor the convenience of doing a search without having to first go to the SE. Of course, many SEs and browsers offer toolbars that diminish the effectiveness of this. But adding it will create another exit point that is to your advantage-- and seems like a service, too.
7. AFRAID OF COMPETITION?
Some adsense programs offer a "block competition" option, one in which specific sites may be barred. However, to believe it's possible to effectively block ALL your competition is naive. Though it may at first seem outrageious to help advertise for the competition, again, at least one will gain from their advertisement (and, for those who need payback remember: the competition is paying you).
Each of these strategies increase a site's adsense revenue. By using all of them, the adsense ads will create a steady revenue stream which will increase with the site's traffic stream.--mo
*Also, this combination uses Google's rates, which may vary in other adsense programs.

Top 10 tips for making money online by using affiliate programs
Whether you are a newbie to Internet or a proud owner of a website, affiliate programs are great opportunities for you to make money online. It is an interesting concept that allows affiliates to develop a source of income and
the program owners to sell their products more effectively.
As an affiliate your job is to drive traffics to the program owner's site. You get a commission from each sale made to a customer that originated from your marketing efforts.
Once you become interested in making money through affiliate programs and do some research you will come to know that there are many affiliates, who consistently make thousands of dollars month after month.
James Martell, who also wrote a handbook on affiliate marketing, claims that he makes over US$ 40K each month from his 30 over niche affiliate sites.
Phil Wiley lives in a remote area near Australia's Great Barrier Reefs but it does not create any barrier for him to make a comfortable living from his online incomes.
Rosalind Gardner, author of the Super Affiliate Handbook, made over US $400,000 last year alone by promoting different affiliate programs.
There are numerous examples like these, but the question is do all affiliates make that much of money? Is it truly possible to make your living by promoting affiliate programs?
The truth is very few of thousands of affiliates are successful in making good amount of money from affiliate marketing.
If you follow the tips stated below scrupulously your chance to become a super affiliate will increase considerably.
Try the product first
Don't just start promoting an affiliate program because they offer handsome commission! Internet marketing is a complex and time consuming process! If you decided to spend your valuable time and ingenious brain in promoting a product,
you better check out the product first. Try the product! As a consumer if you feel that the money spent on the product is really worth it, then you probably found a right affiliate program to market.
Sell products consistent to your website's content
If the visitors are coming to your site and spending time, that means they like the content of your pages. If you offer them something which is relevant to this content, chances increase dramatically that they will check out that product.
Write ad articles and text ads for the product
Don't use banners to promote your chosen affiliate programs! Our eyes are so accustomed to see banners that in very rare case, nowadays, we click on a banner. Use text ads instead! But don't just use the generic ads supplied by the affiliate program owner. Spend sometimes in creating the text ads. While writing the text ads, think how you can relate the content of the page with the text of the ad.
Write articles about the subject matter of the affiliate product and use links within the article. Studies show that the ad articles have good click through response. You can submit these articles to other websites and create a viral marketing process for your affiliate program.
Get a domain name for the affiliate program
If you are getting result from promoting an affiliate program and would like to get more serious in marketing this particular program, get a domain name for this program and use it to redirect to the link given by you affiliate program owner. Here is why you should do this:
Many people don't feel comfortable with the idea that you will get a share from the sales made to them. A domain name convinces many of this type of people that you are not merely promoting an affiliate program, rather you have something to do with this product or better yet, some even might consider that you are not making anything out of a sale.
Redirect a buyer to a page with relevant products
If you sell a product of your own from a website, once the buyer finishes the purchasing process, i.e. charging credit card, redirect him immediately to a page with products that compliment the product he or she has just purchased. The idea here is to try to sell more products to the same buyer while he is still in the buying mood.
Build mini sites for the niche products
One of the best approaches in promoting affiliate programs is to build mini websites dedicated to these programs. Here are the steps you should take:
* Choose a market segment
* Choose niche products for this particular market segment
* Build a content rich mini website specifically oriented to
this segment
* Promote related affiliate programs through this website
Use free materials, programs etc. to attract visitors
People love free stuffs! Especially, if there are values in them! Many affiliate programs supply free materials like articles, e-books, programs, etc. in order to help affiliates market their products. Use these materials sporadically to lure customers. If you don't get any worthy free materials from the program owners, search for free relevant materials on the Internet. You will be amazed to see quantity of free e-books, articles and other materials that you will be able to dig out!
Create exit Pop-Up pages with specific and targeted offers
If the visitor of your site is leaving, why not showing him a page with highly specific targeted product offers? Best idea is to create several pages with highly targeted products for different pages. If the visitor browsed through a certain page, that means the content of the page some how interested him. If he decides to leave the site right after viewing this page, it definitely makes sense to show him an exit pop-up page with products consistent to the content of the page.
Build a directory of e-books, articles, and affiliate programs
Information is the number one reason why people spend time online. It's not always easy to create large amount of contents required to satisfy the need of the visitors. Why not use materials created by others for this purpose? Besides, you
can also use those materials to promote affiliate programs of your choice. You can add materials to your directory yourself and you can also ask visitors to submit their materials in relevant categories.
Post Pay per click ad on the most successful affiliate program
If an affiliate program generates considerable revenue promote this particular program more aggressively by posting pay per click ad for this program.
Overture and Google Adwords are the best options available for pay per click advertisement campaign.
Affiliate programs are great way of making money online! However, don't expect an overnight success! Like any other business, here also you require proper planning and persistence. Most super affiliates confess that, in general, it takes one to two years of hard work to become successful in this field. So do your homework before jumping in!

If he decides to leave the site right after viewing this page, it definitely makes sense to show him an exit pop-up page with products consistent to the content of the page.
